AT CAMBRIDGE FESTIVAL
Cathi joins fellow crime writers Syd Moore and Mick Finlay to talk about some of the events in history that have inspired their books. Cathi will be talking about the Hagley Woods 'Bella in the Wych Elm' mysery that informed That Old Black Magic. Syd is an expert on the history of witches in Essex and author of the Essex Witch Museum mysteries. Mick (Associate Professor in Social Psychology, Anglia Ruskin University), is author of the Arrowood crime series set in Victorian London. After each author's talk there will be a Q&A.

On a weekend in July 2006, more than 20 established writers read their work to an audience of rock 'n' roll fans as part of the Latitude Rock Festival in Suffolk, England.
Along with Lydia Lunch, Toby Litt and Matt Thorne, Cathi Unsworth was interviewed by Jay Clifton on the relationship between rock 'n' roll and literature. The completed interviews make up Rupert Noble's film Vox 'n' Roll and we are grateful for Rupert and Jay's kind permission to use this edited version of their film.
In the film Cathi reads from The Not Knowing and answers the following questions.
1. Literature or rock 'n' roll - which got you first?
2. Can a reading match a rock performance?
3. Do rock fans read?
4. What is a "rock 'n' roll writer"?
